A third-generation racer, Gilliland began driving at the age of 3 when his parents bought him a pink Barbie corvette (repainted black) with modified pedals and an additional battery for increased speed. He raced competitively on-and-off after turning 5 before taking the wheel for good at age 10.
Gilliland started his NASCAR K&N Pro Series career by winning in his first four starts – tying a 60-year-old record originally set by Dan Gurney.
The Sherrils Ford, North Carolina native hopes to follow in the footsteps of his father, David, and grandfather, Butch, who have both competed at NASCAR’s highest level.
